If you are visiting Chiapas the most intelligent route to do is after leave San Cristobal de las casas throgh the 199 road direction to Palenque and you can stop in "cataratas de Misol-ha"and also in "cataratas de agua azul", before to arrive to Palenque.

You can swimg in "cataratas de Misol-ha" if you want, but it is not recommend because the space to swimg is small and the water fall is powerful.
